Arriving in Canada is only the beginning of the settlement journey. IHCI is a Calgary-based not-for-profit organization that helps immigrants and newcomers of all ages learn, connect, and take part in their communities.
IHCI began in 2020 as grassroots community work in Calgary, started by immigrants who knew first-hand how hard it is to arrive in a new country: unfamiliar systems, cultural disconnection, and the need to build something new. In January 2024, we incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation, and our full operations began that year.
Designed by immigrants who understand the nuanced realities of Canadian settlement firsthand.
OUR FOUNDATIONAL COMPASS
Our core purpose guides every initiative, curriculum, and community bridge we nurture across Calgary and beyond.
To empower newcomers including immigrant seniors by providing holistic support services, education, mentorship, and community engagement opportunities that foster successful integration into Canadian society.
We are committed to guiding immigrants through the challenges of settlement, building essential skills, promoting independence, and creating a welcoming environment where every individual feels connected, confident, and valued.
Our vision is to be a leading beacon of support for immigrants and immigrant seniors in Canada transforming challenges into opportunities and fostering a united, empowered, and resilient community. We envision a future where newcomers of all ages not only adapt but thrive, contribute meaningfully to Canadian society, and experience a deep sense of belonging. Through education, mentorship, advocacy, and inclusive programming, we aim to shape an immigrant experience defined by dignity, opportunity, and lasting success.
Immigrants Hub Canada International exists to relieve conditions associated with being a newcomer to Canada including immigrant seniors by providing charitable programs that support social, educational, cultural, and economic integration. Our purpose is to ensure that immigrants of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities have the resources, guidance, and culturally responsive support needed to adapt, participate, and thrive in Canadian society.
In plain words: we help newcomers, including immigrant seniors, overcome the barriers of settling in Canada through education, practical support, mentorship and community connection.

We track attendance, participant feedback, and short surveys on what people learned and how connected they feel. We will report real results here once we have them.
Every person deserves to be treated with respect and recognized for their strengths, experiences, and potential.
We work to reduce barriers and create spaces where people from different backgrounds can participate fully.
Belonging grows through relationships. We create opportunities for people to connect, contribute, and support one another.
We listen and learn rather than assume. Participants and communities bring knowledge that should shape the programs intended for them.
We create opportunities for children, adults, and seniors to share knowledge, experiences, and mutual care.
Different people face different barriers. Our programs respond to those differences rather than assuming everyone needs the same support.
We listen to feedback, measure our work, and adapt programs as community needs change over time.
Whether you are newly arrived in Calgary looking for settlement support, an established community member ready to mentor or volunteer, or an organization looking to partner, there is a place for you at Immigrants Hub Canada International.
